I am a British architect based in London, England, and also working in France. My practice was established in 1985. I specialise in alteration, renovation, and refurbishment work, but I also undertake new building work. A typical project would involve the extension to a house, or a loft conversion, or the restoration of an old property.

I have undertaken a wide variety of projects, primarily in Britain and in France, but also in the Middle East and in South America. They testify to a wide range of experience from urban design to furniture design, although the mainstay of my practice is domestic architectural work.

I am totally bilingual in French and English, and as well as being registered with the Architects' Registration Board of the U.K. and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects I am also registered to practise in France and operating in all regions.

I do not just design buildings. My service also includes dealing with applications for permits such as a planning permit application, and I supervise building work on site. Personal service is fundamental to the way I work. As my client's agent I am personally involved in every aspect the project, from inception to the completion of the work. Each client will be looking for a solution to their unique requirements, and I make every effort to define what is wanted in order to satisfy those requirements. My services are completely flexible, and I will provide as much or as little assistance as may be required. The full scope of my professional expertise is set out below, but this may be considered a 'menu' from which you may pick those items you require.

A Preparation of measured dimensional surveys of buildings, or arranging for land surveys.

B Discussions to determine Client requirements, the 'brief', which is used to begin design. This may include meetings or discussions with Local Authorities or the Mairie and DDE in Stage B in the RIBA plan of work, part stage APS in France.

C Preparation of design options or alternatives, for consideration by the client. Stage C in UK, part stage APS in France, then stage APD.

D Preparation of design proposals for submission to the Planning Authorities for Statutory Consents. In the UK these are generally planning and building regulation approvals, in France generally permis de construire. Stages D and E in UK, stage DPC in France.

E Preparation of construction documentation in the form of drawings and schedules of work or specifications, to allow pricing by contractors. Negotiation of construction prices. Stages F, G, H in UK, stages PCG and AMT in France.

F Contract management and construction inspections, valuation and certification. Stages J and K in UK, stages PGC and AMT in France.

All stages of work may be undertaken in part, as part of other services or in isolation as may be required by the Client. Every project is unique, and I will vary the scope and detail of each work stage as may be necessary.
